Claude setup

Set up Ruthie
with Claude.

You need a Ruthie account and a Claude account. Then add Ruthie to Claude once.

Plans and testing details

Claude offers custom connectors on Free, Pro, Max, Team and Enterprise plans. Free accounts are limited to one, and work or school organizations can limit them. Ruthie has tested setup at claude.ai in a computer browser. Installing connectors on phones is still a beta.

Add Ruthie in Claude

Using Claude Team or Enterprise? Start here instead.
  1. Ask an Owner or Primary Owner to open Organization settings → Connectors.
  2. The Owner chooses Add → Custom → Web.
  3. The Owner enters the Ruthie URL shown below, then chooses Add.
  4. Each person opens Customize → Connectors, finds Ruthie, and chooses Connect.
  5. Sign in with your own Ruthie account and choose Allow on the permission screen.

Personal Claude account

  1. Open claude.ai (opens in a new tab) and sign in.
  2. Choose Customize.
  3. Choose Connectors.
  4. Choose +.
  5. Choose Add custom connector.
  6. Enter the name and URL shown below.

  1. Keep Sign in now and Use published identity selected. Leave Advanced settings closed.
  2. Choose Add.
  3. Choose Connect beside Ruthie.
  4. Sign in with the same Ruthie account you use in the app.
  5. On the Ruthie permission screen, choose Allow.

If Claude Desktop opens “Finish connecting a connector?”, continue only if you started the connection from Claude.

What Claude can access

The first time Claude uses Ruthie, it can read and make changes in all the Spaces you have now. Spaces you create later stay private. You can change or remove access any time in Your Ruthie.

Want to limit access before using Ruthie?

Choose the Spaces and access level yourself before asking Claude to use Ruthie. Your choice replaces the automatic default.

Connected Ruthie to Claude before?

Remove the old Ruthie connector in Claude before adding another. Claude can keep two Ruthie connectors connected to different Ruthie accounts.

Try Ruthie in Claude

Claude can now reach Ruthie. It still needs to hear what matters to you. Start a new chat and ask in your own words. You don’t need special commands.

If Claude lists your Ruthie Spaces, the connection and read access worked. That alone doesn’t confirm it can make changes. If Ruthie isn’t available in that chat, turn it on from Claude’s + menu under Connectors.

Try asking Claude:

  • “What Ruthie Spaces can you see?”
  • “What do I have on my agenda today?”
  • “Add grocery shopping to Tuesday.”

Claude may ask permission before it reads or changes Ruthie. Choose what you’re comfortable allowing. You can start by approving just this time.

Seeing the wrong Spaces?

Claude may be using an older Ruthie connector. Remove the extra connector in Claude and reconnect with the intended Ruthie account. Removing a connector does not delete Ruthie data or revoke saved Space access; manage access in Your Ruthie.
